Minimum Valuable Reactions on Slack
1 min readApr 18, 2019
In this post, I’ll be asking a question I’ve pondered over, many times.
Why does a slack post featuring a GitHub repo gets 10+ 🔥 reactions, and 2 stars on GitHub.
Which reaction is more valuable to the developer? The 🔥 emoji? Or a GitHub star?
It’s not just GitHub repos, you’ll see a similar trend with Twitter, and Medium posts.
- A star on GitHub goes a long way.
- A RT or Like on Twitter too.
- A clap on Medium means your followers get to read the post too.
They cost just as much as a slack reaction, and more value is created for it.
